Funeral packages and costs in Singapore

What funeral directors charge for each type of funeral, from the packages they publish on their own websites. Based on 377 packages from 47 funeral directors, checked 1 October 2026.

Longer wakes cost more: a 5-day Buddhist or Taoist wake is typically S$1,000 more than a 3-day one.

How we work these out: each firm counts once, using its own typical price, so a firm listing many tiers doesn't tilt the figures. "Most firms charge" is the middle half of firms. Packages for babies, sea burial and ash scattering are left out, and types where fewer than 3 firms publish prices aren't shown. We don't compare void deck and parlour packages, because many parlour prices leave out the hall rental.

What a funeral package usually includes

Most packages cover collecting the deceased, embalming, a casket, the wake setup (tentage at a void deck, or a hall at a parlour), a hearse on the funeral day and help with the cremation or burial booking. Religious packages add the relevant rites, such as monks' chanting, a Taoist priest or a pastor-led service.

Common extras are catering for visitors, a larger or imported casket, more days of wake, flowers and transport for mourners. Government fees such as the Mandai cremation fee are sometimes included and sometimes charged separately. Our guide to what funeral packages include goes into more detail.

Common questions

How much does a funeral cost in Singapore?

Most 3-day wake packages listed by funeral directors cost between S$4,130 and S$8,530. A typical Buddhist or Taoist package is around S$7,520 and a Christian or Catholic one around S$4,940. The final bill depends on the casket, the venue, the number of days and extras such as catering.

How much is a direct cremation in Singapore?

Direct cremation, without a wake, is the lowest-cost option. Listed packages start from S$888, and most firms charge between S$1,380 and S$1,800.

How much does a Muslim funeral cost in Singapore?

Muslim burial packages are listed from S$1,170, with most between S$1,580 and S$1,640. Burial takes place quickly, usually within 24 hours, so there is no long wake.

Why do package prices vary so much?

The casket is the biggest difference, followed by the venue and whether its rental is included, the length of the wake and religious services such as chanting or a priest. Premium packages with imported caskets and larger setups can cost several times a basic package.

Do these prices include GST?

It depends on the firm. Some show prices before GST and some include it. Each package on our listings shows the price exactly as the firm writes it, so check the firm's page for what's included.
